COVID has placed us in a weird head space. We have found ourselves facing our biggest fear; the fear of seeing ourselves for the first time since becoming adults. The masks have fallen off and some of us do not like what we see or have seen. We can no longer hide because we have been forced inside. Forced inside physically, mentally, as well as spiritually and it can be frightening because we have worked so hard to hide our identity from the world; you know friends, family, spouses but mainly ourselves.
We have played hide and seek if you will for years, now we cannot find ourselves. We hide in food, jobs, sex, drugs, alcohol, and yes religion. Now we can no longer hide or be on the fence because we have been forced inside.
Being inside is not as bad as some of us say. We have stopped and realized what is important. We took for granted our parents, grandparents; the elderly who have a wealth of knowledge. We would do anything at this point to sit in the room with them for hours to see their smiling faces, a touch, a hug or simply holding hands.
Now we must figure this out because we are forced inside to reinvent or discover who we really are; I think its discovery not reinvention. We always were, we just forgot because we have been busy busy busy doing not BEING who we were created to be.
Stop trying to reinvent just discover who you were meant to be!
