Alone in the Dark

Alone in the dark, I sit and stare at my door wishing and hoping that someone anyone will come in and touch me so I won’t be alone in the dark.

Alone in the dark, I cry and hold myself hoping that no one can hear me cry alone in the dark.

Alone in the dark, I look for the light and pray that I won’t be left alone in the dark.

Alone in the dark, I think about how I have not been obedient and true to myself let alone anyone else so I sit and stare alone in the dark.

Alone in the dark, I wonder why I just don’t get up and turn on the light so I won’t be alone in the dark.

You

one minute
two hours
time stands still

comfort in knowing you understand
rhythmic tones that dance two-step in my head

words spoken and thoughts complete
fly so high that we never compete

You are my Muse
